- I am 54 years old and recently retired from 30 years of hairdressing.I am a self-taught artist,and a year and a half ago decided to try my hand at painting.A few years ago we had a flood(I live on the Mississippi)and we ended up raising our house 9 feet,during the remodel,my husband dubbed me and my friend,Julie,a couple of 'old crows'.When I started to paint,I put a crow in all my paintings.My art is mostly ladies.I filled the walls of the shop I worked in,now they are all over my home.My Grandson calls them 'Gramma's Pretty Girls'
